On 26 November, the ASIS Qatar Chapter, in partnership with CyberClan, hosted an advanced session on the rising threat of Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS)Ā and the shift toward quantum-era security. Groups like Akira, Cl0p, Qilin, and LockBitĀ were highlighted for their evolving tactics and growing impact.
The session explored how quantum computingāwith concepts like qubits, superposition,Ā and entanglementāis rapidly challenging traditional cryptographic models. Legacy algorithms such as RSA, ECC, AES, and TLS/HTTPSĀ face increasing vulnerability under ShorāsĀ and GroverāsĀ algorithms.
š The Path Forward: Participants were urged to begin transitioning to NIST-approved Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC)Ā including CRYSTALS-Kyber, Dilithium, Falcon, SPHINCS+, and others. CyberClan also demonstrated its Enigma platform, featuring AI-driven encryption, quantum entropy keying, and blockchain-based trust layers.
Delivered by Richard Dāsouza, the session offered clear, engaging insights into the urgency of adopting quantum-resilient architectures.
š”ļø Key Message: Quantum threats are no longer theoreticalāorganizations must prepare now or risk critical exposure in the next wave of cyber attacks.
